Here Comes the Sun

May 2

It’s been a wet, misty and rainy week.  But, come rain or shine, there’s a job that needs to be done.  Mama had some food in her beak and she flew into the nest, then out, then in again and repeated this about 4 times.

I’m not sure why she had to do this, but the kids got to eat.

Here Comes the Sun!  Finally, a good sunny morning!  Mama stood on top of the Revenue building for about 25 minutes.  She was looking left, right and down as if ready to pounce on prey.

Papa streaked by overhead

But she didn’t and the Mockingbirds came and harassed her.  She took off and guess what? She already had food in her talons!  I’m not sure why she stayed that long on the building top.

Mama wasn’t the only mama hunting and feeding her kids.  Mrs. Robin was at it too.

But, a meal is not complete without …

Sorry, kids. I forgot the napkins. 🙂

I haven’t seen the 3rd eyas.  Only 2 so far, but it might be in the nest and might have been the last one to hatch and move about the nest.

There should be more nest and wing action in the coming weeks.

  1. Wow! You really got some great carnage and action shots today!! Congratulations! How exciting! My birds are in their new nest too far for me to see in so I don’t know if they even laid eggs this year. We have had 2 snow storms with over a foot of snow on their nest each time. I can’t tell from my vantage point if they were in the nest and hidden or if the nest was buried and they weren’t using it. Grateful I can enjoy the magic vicariously through your lens! What are you shooting with?
