The forecast was rain, rain and more rain at least during mid-day. I stopped by early in the morning hoping to catch all 3 eyasses, but had no luck as only 1 or 2 would be visible from ground level.
And so the rains came and it was a deluge, but at around 4 PM, we caught a break. It was nice and sunny and I found Mama and Papa all clean and washed and drying up their flight gear.
Being up this high attracted attention and this Blue jay was courageous enough to take on both Red-tails.
Papa finished tidying up first and took flight and Mama followed a few minutes later.
Meanwhile, back at base camp, finally a sighting of all 3 eyasses, although the 3rd eyas is barely visible. If you look to the right of the eyas on the right, you can see another ‘eye’ of a hawk.
here’s a much tighter crop
Hopefully, I’ll be able to get a better shot of all 3 eyasses, then it’ll be time to play the “Name that Eyas” game!
