Post-fledge… Week 2

June 10

It’s been about 2 weeks since the eyasses fledged their nest.  They’re pretty good with flight, take off and landing now.  They’ve met many other air-borne creatures, namely Blue jays and Mockingbirds.

But food is still Papa and Mama’s job.  So come rain (we’ve had quite a bit in the past week) or shine, Papa and Mama still hunts and feeds the younglings.

Today, breakfast was on the AT&T building…

Hey, We can do that too!

But the fledglings flew back to the Revenue building after feeding.

I saw only 2 fledglings. Not sure where the 3rd one was.

Ciao!

  1. Do the Mockingbirds or Starlings give them a hard time or fight them like they do crows and other birds? Also, do they hawks even know we’re around? I’ve been in Union square when one flew right over my head with a kill, am I just another ground object to them??
