A Deeper Shade of Red

Jan 27

Nest was empty… Capitol was empty except for Robins… No Red-tails in sight. Oh, well, there are other hawks.   Back at work, I was about to take a walk when I spotted a rather large bird on a flag pole.

It was interesting because he was rotating left and right all without moving his feet!  Hmm…. how is he doing this?

A Jedi? 🙂

Actually, no.  Mr. Red-shoulder here had volunteered to become a weather vane for a few minutes.  As the wind blew, the ball on top of the flag pole rotated.

At one point the ball moved quite a bit he couldn’t hang on and finally slid off!

Ok. enough of this, let me find a better spot. Ahh….  This light pole is better. 🙂

Meantime, a Red-tail circled high above…. watching…

Snow in the forecast for tomorrow.  We’ll see if Mama and Papa’s nest gets some of the white stuff.

Stay tuned.

Ciao.
