Capitol Residents

I haven’t posted in a long while.  Unlike in the past 3 years, there were always the younglings that mama and papa had to feed.  This year, all 3 were rescued by American Wildlife Refuge so mama and papa don’t have to hunt as much and hence aren’t always visible.

So it’s off to the other creatures that inhabit the Capitol.  If you take interest on the other birds around the Capitol, you’ll see quite a bit of different birds.

And for you folks who used to eat at Cooper’s BBQ, the ol’ building has been torn down.  Make way for progress!

  1. Yeah! The hawks are back! I have been looking for them on my morning walks. When I was a kid, Mockingbirds were known as Catbirds because they would hear cats and try to meow!

  2. Great pictures! I have a huge pine tree across from my front yard, and I have been observing two hawks that seem to be mates way up at the top. I cannot confirm that they are red tails and not some other kind of hawk but I have really enjoyed watching them. I wonder what the chances are of them being the children of our Raleigh Hawks?
