Have Wings, Will Fly

The dog days of summer is upon us, but temperature wise, it’s been quite cool for August in Raleigh.

Mama and Papa are flying around downtown, but usually they stay high up…

and only come down low to hunt…

Looks like Papa’s sporting some new tail feathers

Elsewhere in the Capitol, winged creatures are a plenty.  Fledglings have turned into juveniles…

A Nuthatch.  This is one fast-moving little bird.

  1. I look for the hawks every morning on my walks downtown and through Union Square and have not seen one in weeks. Glad to see they are still around.

    Nuthatches are cool little birds!!
