Today’s forecast was in the 60’s and sunny! Nice. I did my check of the Red-tails usual perching sites and found one sitting on top of the bus station building. Who was this?
Ah… It’s Mama… checking out the Bus station 🙂 I took a few shots and continued over to the Capitol. Some trees are still with leaves and some were already bare. On one oak tree, I saw this large object hop from a tree branch. I wasn’t sure what it was but pulled out my camera anyway.

This guy was just standing around and after a few minutes, he hopped to another branch and started pecking at something on the tree branch.

But… who is this fella? Why can he fly in and out of Mama and Papa’s territory and hunt with impunity?
