A rare Saturday in the city. I didn’t go there for the RTH’s, but actually visited the Nature Research Center. I have 3 words to describe the NRC. Nice, Nice, Nice! However, after 5 minutes in the NRC, there was a fire alarm and everyone had to evacuate. Raleigh’s finest was on the scene a few minutes later. Luckily, it was a false alarm :).
I didn’t get much of a chance to observe the RTH’s as I was mostly in the NRC, but Mama was in the nest and at the top of the steeple. A Blackbird(?) did the harassing, but like all other non-raptors, Mama just ignored it.
The eyasses’ feathers are no longer cotton-white, but looking more greyish. Guess they’re growing up fast. Still haven’t seen any more than 2 eyasses though. Hopefully, next week we can tell if there’s only 2 or if there’s more. At this time last year, all 4 eyasses, (“The Fab-Four”) were up and about. Maybe the current batch of eyasses are a week younger. Stay tuned…
